Everywhere’s a Beach, an imaginative outdoor circus theatre show from Hikapee, is heading for Newark Market Place, with support from Newark Creates.
Performed atop a giant, custom-built revolving beach parasol, the show is a ridiculous, non-verbal spectacle that blends theatrical storytelling with aerial circus.
Perfect for all ages, the show invites audiences into a world where eccentric beachgoers turn sophistication into chaos, all set to an original soundtrack composed specifically for the production, which will be in Newark on Saturday, 17th August, with performances at 12noon and 2pm.
“Everywhere’s a Beach is a show full of joy, silliness and beautiful storytelling,” said artistic director Bryony Livesey-Casey.
“It has been made so that adults and children alike will enjoy watching it. The unique parasol that the show revolves around perfectly sets the scene for this fun show, and allows the performers to climb, swing and dangle up high, allowing audiences great sightlines and unique perspective.”
Hikapee, led by Bryony and Edd Livesey-Casey, has been creating narrative-driven circus theatre since 2014.
Everywhere’s a Beach is a non-verbal production, making it accessible to deaf audiences and those who do not use English as a first language. With a running time of 35 minutes, it’s ideal for young people, families, and audiences with additional needs, including SEND and PMLD.
The performances are presented in partnership with Newark Creates, and is supported by Arts Council England, 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space, and The Horton Arts Centre.
