The grounds of Newark Castle are to be transformed into a stage for a season of outdoor theatre with five shows lined up in July and August.
Comedic gem The Bench will start Palace at the Castle on Monday 22 July. The laughter will continue on Thursday 8 August with Wilde About Oscar, a one-man show by award-winning actor Jonathan Goodwin.
On Tuesday 30 July will be Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women, which will be staged by Chapterhouse Theatre Company.
On Wednesday 14 August, The Gondoliers will transport you to the romantic canals of Venice. On Saturday 27 July, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be offered.

With lots of great places to eat in the town, visitors can even plan a day or evening-out, supporting our wonderful local businesses while enjoying the arts in a distinctive and historic setting too.
