Charity concert to raise funds for Children’s Bereavement Centre

Music From the Movies at Newark Palace Theatre on Saturday, 17th May is bringing together the Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra and the Southwell Minister School Choir in a concert to raise funds for the town’s Children’s Bereavement Centre.

It will feature iconic songs from favourite films such as Star Wars, Jurassic Park, The Incredibles, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

“The support from the Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra is truly incredible,” said Katie Gibson, of the cherity. “This concert will not only be a fantastic night of music but will also make a real difference in the lives of local children and families coping with the loss of a loved one.”

Tickets are £8.50 for a child and £13 for an adult and are available on the Palace Theatre website at www.palacenewark.com/whats-on or you can call the box office on 01636 655 755. The box office is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am until 4pm and one hour before each show.

Coun Rowan Cozens, deputy leader of Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “This really will be a show not to miss and I am delighted that all proceeds are going to such a wonderful cause. The Children’s Bereavement Centre are passionate about supporting every grieving child and young person, providing specialist care, advice, and guidance when they need it.
