Telephone calls to check up on the lonely and isolated

Share:

A telephone befriending service has been launched for people in Newark and Sherwood who may feel isolated and lonely because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Listening Line pilot project is being run by volunteers at Newark and Sherwood CVS and funded by Newark and Sherwood District Council.

People referred to the service will receive a weekly telephone call and a friendly chat, between Mondays and Fridays at an arranged time.

Volunteers are trained and reference-checked. They will treat what people tell them in the strictest confidence and will not share details outside Newark and Sherwood CVS.

To find out more about Listening Line call 07535 134032 or email [email protected].
