Edingley Lodge Care Home has unveiled its new look after major refurbishment — with the opening performed by the Mayor of Newark, Coun Laurence Goff.
Among the new facilities at Barchester Healthcare’s new luxury care home are a cafe, ensuite bedrooms, spa bathroom, and hair salon.
Pictured above with the mayor (centre) are, from left, Kelly Tatton, Barchester Healthcare regional director; Alison Donaldson, Barchester Healthcare managing director (North); the home’s general manager Jilu Stephen; and Dr Pete Calveley, Barchester Healthcare chief executive.
Dr Calveley and Jilu, who hosted the event, said residents were at the core of everything Barchester does, from person-centred care to its dining experience and hospitality, which is tailored to residents’ tastes and preferences.
Jilu added: “We are delighted our home is now open. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do at Edingley Lodge. We look forward to welcoming them and their families, and becoming an intrinsic part of the local community.
“We take pride in really getting to know each of our residents to provide tailored care and support, ensuring dignity and choice in every aspect of daily life.”
The mayor said: “I am delighted to be here to open Edingley Lodge care home. It is very good to see Barchester investing with such confidence in the future of care in the county — that investment will ensure not only top-quality facilities and world-class care, but also jobs, training, and a boost to the local economy.
“It is clear from everyone I have met today how dedicated the Barchester teams are to the people who they care for, and it’s reassuring to know that the people of Newark and beyond will receive a warm welcome at Edingley Lodge, and that their needs will be met with respect and dignity.”
Dr Calveley added: “Edingley Lodge is going to be a wonderful home, Jilu and her team here will offer personalised care in this lovely setting. We’re thrilled to add Edingley Lodge to our Barchester family of quality care homes and hospitals.”
