Financial services provider and retailer Ramsdens has opened a new store at 19 Market Place in Newark.

Creating three new jobs, the company’s 178th store in the UK offers foreign currency exchange, jewellery retail, pawnbroking, and gold buying.

It is the company’s first store in Newark and only its second in Nottinghamshire.

A large window display showcases new and pre-owned jewellery on sale. Inside, the store consists of more jewellery displays alongside privacy counters, designed with discretion in mind for customers utilising financial services.

The store offers a straightforward and transparent gold buying service, allowing customers to sell unwanted gold while benefiting from competitive pricing based on live precious metal values.

Ramsdens also offers competitive currency exchange rates for consumers jetting off on holiday.

“We’re here to serve the community and ensure they know the rates they’re getting for their money,” said Andy Gooder, regional manager.

“Our rates are always clearly advertised, no surprises, no hidden margins.

“Ramsdens on Market Place is off to a great start and is performing very well across all our core services. We continue to grow our store footprint, bringing Ramsdens to more communities — not just as a business, but as a trusted retailer shoppers can rely on.”

To reinforce its commitment to the local community, the store is collecting spare change, obsolete currency, and unspent foreign coins in aid of Beaumond House Hospice.

The collection is part of the Ramsdens Loose Coin Scheme, where customers can contribute by donating coins in store, with funds being transferred to the charity on an annual basis.

As part of one of the group’s environmental initiatives of planting a new tree for every new store opened, the Newark store also means another tree will be added to the Ramsdens Trees Project.
