Posted onPosted on 6th Mar

Normanton Hall is to open to the public as part of a national charity scheme.

The hall on South Street, Normanton on Trent, will open its doors to the National Garden Scheme on Sunday, 26th April, from 2pm to 6pm.

The large country garden features mature oak, lime, beech and yew trees and newly-planted additions.

There are new plantings of bulbs, rhododendrons and a camellia walk. An arboretum is planted with unusual, mainly hardwood trees and specimen oaks and beech. There is also a new area of wood anemones.

There is some wheelchair access, plants for sale and refreshments.

The National Garden Scheme saw a total of 3,552 gardens opened to the public last year, and a total of £3ms donated to nursing and health charities.
