Wine and gin tasting, gourmet nights, and gigs are all on the menu at a cafe in Middlebeck as part of a programme of events from March.
Urban&Civic, the developer behind Middlebeck, is organising monthly events, hosted by Gannets, which aim to bring the daytime venue to life by night, providing after-hours activities.
The first is a charity pub quiz on Saturday, 8th March, to raise money for Positively Empowered Kids, with tickets including food and the option to take your own drinks.
It will be followed by a further event each month through the spring and summer.
There will be gin tasting, wine tasting, and meet the brewer nights as well as a Gourmet Night, featuring a three-course meal with a menu created and prepared by the team at Gannets.
Other events organised by Urban&Civic will include another charity quiz, an acoustic gig featuring local live music acts, and a summer barbecue on Saturday, 16th August, with live music, barbecue food prepared by Gannets, licensed bar, garden games, bouncy castle, car boot sale, and more.
Simon Murphy, Urban&Civic’s community development lead for Middlebeck, said: “Gannets is already a hugely popular daytime spot, but these events will show this fabulous venue in a completely new light, offering something to appeal to everyone and providing something a bit different for the local community to enjoy.”
Gannets opened its doors in 2019, becoming an integral part of Middlebeck, which is already home to more than 500 families, and has new homes available to buy from Miller Homes and Bellway Homes.
Tania Manders, co-owner of Gannets Middlebeck, said: “We can’t wait to host these great evening events, welcoming our regular customers for something a bit different and also hopefully meeting some new people who might not have visited before.
“We have such a lovely community in Middlebeck, so it’s great to be able to offer extra events in our unique setting to add to the appeal of what’s available to do right here on their doorstep.”
