A German-based kitchen manufacturer bringing high standard kitchen fittings with the latest technology is arriving in Newark as it moves into one of the units at the new Beaumond Cross development in the town centre.

The Kutchenhaus showroom will be run by local resident Jodie Mills and her business partner KBSA-shortlisted designer Siobhann Lucy, who between them they have more than 15 years’ experience in the kitchen industry.

Coun Rhona Holloway, portfolio holder for Economic Development and Visitors, said: “The opening of Kutchenhaus is great news for the residents of Newark. The new store will breathe fresh life into the area with two more stores opening in the neighbouring units very soon.

“It’s rewarding to see our hard work pay off and the development become a reality. The new modern units will create a relaxing and enticing shopping experience for residents in one of the most popular areas in the town.”

The unit the kitchen store will move into is situated within the new Beaumond Cross development providing purpose-built commercial accommodation on the ground floor. The development also features a newly built 66-bedroom Travelodge hotel above. Two more businesses are set to join Kutchenhaus in the units next door within the year. This includes a local charity shop and a premium coffee shop operator.

Together, the new shop openings and the operation of the new Travelodge hotel represents the final phase of the Beaumond Cross development by Newark and Sherwood District Council.

The commercial units have been designed to accommodate a wide range of uses, with frontages to the newly completed pedestrian thoroughfare from the town centre to Asda, and to the rear onto the busy Lombard Street.  The units are strategically located in one of Newark’s most prominent junctions.
