A Newark man has launched another online resource for people interested in the heritage of his home town.
During lockdown, Dave Fargher, of Newark, spent a lot of time walking around the area with his dog and photographing various aspects of the town.
It led to him creating the Newark on Trent Photographs group on Facebook in March 2021.
Last year that evolved into the Newark Map, an interactive website that highlights lesser-known historic sights and hidden gems in Newark.
Now Dave has created www.newarkguide.co.uk — a digital gateway to the past, offering information on Newark’s history, from its pre-historic roots to its industrial heyday, curiosities, and people who have shaped the town
“My goal is to inspire a sense of pride in Newark’s heritage and encourage residents and visitors alike to explore its rich history,” he said. “The aim is to bring the history of our town to life, while preserving our past for future generations.”
Visitors can explore:
