Middlebeck’s own pop-up pub is calling last orders on a successful summer, with a final night of craft beer, street food and live music.

The Gannet Arms — the temporary transformation of Middlebeck café Gannets — will return on Friday, 4th September for the last time this year following a series of nights that have brought the community together throughout the summer.

Launched after residents asked for pub nights to be added to Middlebeck’s programme of community events, the Gannet Arms has proved a popular addition, attracting up to 200 people each time, giving them the chance to enjoy a night at a pub without having to leave the neighbourhood.

Now residents are being invited to raise a glass to the end of summer at one final event, which will run from 6pm to 9.30pm.

Craft beer experts 8 Sail Brewery will again take over the bar, while Nathan’s Kitchen Co will be serving up street food.

Providing the soundtrack will be Nottinghamshire musician Jack Brett, who will perform live.
Weather permitting, the event will spill out into Gannets’ outdoor space, creating a pop-up beer garden complete with live music, while giant garden games will make sure younger visitors can get involved too.

The Gannet Arms was created by Urban&Civic, the master developer behind Middlebeck, as part of its wider programme of events designed to create opportunities for residents to meet, socialise, and build a community.

The pub nights themselves came directly from feedback following the success of Middlebeck’s 2025 events programme, which saw more than 1,500 people attend evening events at Gannets.

Simon Murphy, Urban&Civic’s community development lead for Middlebeck, said: “We’ve been thrilled with the response to the Gannet Arms, with hundreds of people turning out across summer to get involved.

“The mix of music, food, and great beer has made for a really welcoming, family-friendly evening that’s been thoroughly enjoyed by all.

“It feels fitting to finish the summer with one final night, so we’d love to see as many people as possible joining us on 4th September as we call last orders at the Gannet Arms and get planning for its return next year.”
