Blidworth Library users can enjoy extended opening hours and additional services thanks to a partnership with Blidworth Parish Council.
Following proactive work with the parish council, Nottinghamshire County Council Communities and Place Committee has agreed that the library would be open for a further nine hours.
Under the terms of the partnership, the library will also provide the public with information about parishcCouncil services, handle requests, report/log faults or issues and/or pass on enquiries to the parish clerk.
The parish council also will hold its meetings within the library. Council chair, Coun John Cheesmond, recently signed a Contract for Services, which will run until 31st May, 2023.
Coun John Cottee, chairman of the Communities and Place Committee, commented: “This is great news for residents. Nottinghamshire County Council is committed to providing a great library service for local people and I’m pleased that by working with the parish council we’re able to extend the service.”
