Work under way on Newark properties

Posted onPosted on 2nd Dec

Work is under way at the third phase of a development that is part of a major housing project on the edge of Newark.

The Foresters at Middlebeck is being built by housing developer Bellway and this latest stage, which will provide 106 homes for the area, is set to launch in January.

There will be 101 properties for private sale and five affordable homes for low-cost rent or share ownership featuring a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom houses.

Bellway started work on The Foresters at Middlebeck in February 2018 and the initial two phases provided 138 properties for the area. All these homes have now been sold.

Located on a 7.5-acre site off Bowbridge Lane, the development is part of a much wider scheme by a consortium of homebuilders to deliver around 3,150 homes on the southern edge of Newark.

Kenny Lattimore, sales manager for Bellway East Midlands, said: “Embarking on this latest phase represents an important milestone in what is a hugely significant project for Newark. The popularity of the first two phases at The Foresters at Middlebeck underlines the strong demand for new homes in the area. Launching phase three will enable us to continue meeting the needs of local housebuyers.

“Places to live are much needed in this area, and the construction of the wider 3,150-home neighbourhood is vital for this growing town.

“The location has so much to offer in terms of local amenities and transport connections, with Newark town centre a mile and a half away and the A1 and A46 nearby.”

There is currently one property available at The Foresters at Middlebeck, the four-bedroom Lowesby showhome, priced at £350,000. The showhome includes an open-plan kitchen/dining room, an en suite for the master bedroom, a garage and is sold fully-furnished.
