Fernwood racing driver Jamie Falvey has secured the GT3 title in this year’s GT Cup Championship, making motorsport history in the process.

Jamie is a driver for Team BRIT, the world’s only competitive team of all-disabled racing drivers.

The landmark achievement was confirmed at the final round of the season at Snetterton, where an outstanding campaign was capped by securing two overall race victories on the Sunday, having wrapped up the GT3 title the previous day.

Team BRIT exists to create a ladder of opportunity for disabled people in motorsport, from grassroots racing through to elite competition, while developing groundbreaking vehicle adaptations designed to remove barriers to participation. The ultimate goal is to become the first all-disabled team to compete in the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Jamie served in the Royal Marines and achieved the rank of lance corporal before sustaining hearing damage during his military career. The injury resulted in permanent tinnitus and led to his medical discharge from the Armed Forces.

He began racing Caterhams, then joined Team BRIT in 2017. He later went on to forge a successful professional racing career, becoming the 2018 Caterham 270R champion, a multiple race winner in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup, and competing in the Michelin Le Mans Cup before returning to Team BRIT’s GT3 programme in 2026.

His teammate, Paul Fullick, of Fareham, is a former member of the British Army. He survived a life-threatening diving incident that left him with limited walking ability, reduced strength, and difficulties with speech and communication, forcing his early retirement from military service.

He later established his own vehicle restoration business and completed a number of fundraising adventures before losing his right leg in a motorcycle accident while touring in Wales in 2021.

Introduced to Team BRIT through veterans’ charity Blesma, Paul gained his race licence within weeks and has progressed from saloon cars to GT4 and now GT3 competition.

Throughout the season, the pair shared driving duties in Team BRIT’s BMW M4 GT3, which incorporates pioneering technology developed by the team’s engineers. Using a custom CAN-based control system, the car can switch between a conventional pedal-operated setup for Jamie and a bespoke hand-throttle configuration for Paul, allowing both drivers to compete at the highest level in the same championship-winning car.

Jamie said: “Winning the GT3 championship is a fantastic achievement and a real reward for the effort that has gone into this programme.

“Sharing a car with Paul and being able to challenge for wins all season has been brilliant. The engineering team has created something incredibly special that allows us both to drive the car in the way that works best for us without compromise.

“We’re all proud to have made history, and it’s been a really special season for me, having joined the team nine years ago, not long after starting my racing career — then returning to what is now one of the most incredible moments of my racing journey so far.”

Mike Scudamore, team principal of Team BRIT, said: “This championship win is more than a trophy. It is further proof that disabled drivers can compete and succeed at the highest levels of motorsport when barriers are removed.

“From grassroots racing to GT3 competition, we continue to demonstrate what is possible through determination, innovation and opportunity.

“As celebrations begin after a historic season, the focus remains firmly on the future.

“The GT Cup GT3 title is a landmark achievement, but it’s also another step closer to the ultimate goal: racing at Le Mans and changing motorsport for future generations.”
