Free Easter event at Newark Buttermarket

Posted onPosted on 13th Mar

Bumbling bunnies, eccentric eggs, and springing chickens will be part of a free Easter event at Newark Buttercross on Saturday, 23rd March, from 10am to 3pm.

The free event is aimed at families and people of all ages.

The Inspire learning and library teams are joining forces to provide fun, including cartoon workshops run by Newark’s very own Doodling Poet, Chris White, where visitors can design their own Easter-themed cartoon creations to take home.

A giant White Rabbit may be helping out and among the other entertainment will be a visit from a chocolate-egg laying hen, from the Easy Lay Egg Company at 12noon-12.30pm, 1pm-1.30pm and 2pm–2.30pm.

Inspire’s regular Saturday library events will also be running, including Rattle, Rhyme and Roll and Stay and Play from 10am–11am; Lego Club from 11am–1pm; and adult Scrabble Club in the afternoon until 3pm.

The Inspire Buttermarket is situated in the Buttermarket off Middlegate, Chain Lane, or go through the Town Hall entrance from Newark Market Place. Inspire is on the first floor, up the stairs or lift, just above Tambo Lounge.
