Eden Futures is about to start construction on its newest supported living service in Newark, which will open mid-autumn 2021 – and now it is recruiting for 35 new support worker jobs.
The 16-bed development of purpose-built properties will provide eight self-contained apartments, two two-bed apartments for people who require physical adaptions with built-in assistive technology and four new-build specialist bungalows.
Eden Futures is working with developer Minster Developments, social landlord Inclusion Housing and the commissioning team of Nottinghamshire County Council to provide this new service, which is just half a mile away from existing services.
Dave Whittock, director of service development, said: “Every person we support has their own tenancy agreement and their own front door, regardless of how complex their behavioural needs are. This is achieved by working alongside them with the cooperation of developers, commissioners, landlords and health professionals. This allows us to identify potential new sites where the right accommodation can be built, with the right support system around it so it can operate sustainably, like here in Newark.”
