The Dukeries Community Band, which meets every Tuesday in the Concert Hall of the Dukeries Academy, Ollerton, is looking for a drummer/kit player to help at local concerts between May and July.
A spokesman for the band said: “It is preferred that the person should be able to read music and it would be advantageous to have the ability to remember the style, tempo and structure of each piece.”
The band also requires an enthusiastic leader to guide it through new concert programmes and rehearse in a friendly atmosphere.
Email the band at dukeriescommband@btinternet.com for further information on either vacancy.
Celebrations include VE Day on 8th May at Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre, Edwinstowe; the Queen’s Platinum Party on 5th June at Mill Field, Ollerton; and a further Jubilee Celebration on 9th July at St Paulinus Church, Ollerton.
The spokesman added: “This year we have been fortunate in gaining some new players. If you play a woodwind or brass instrument, belong to a school band or have been playing but not with a band, then come and join us.”
