Doris is 101 on day of double celebrations

Share:

Residents, families, friends, and staff at Edingley Lodge in Edingley came together to celebrate the birthdays of two much-loved residents, Doris and Joan, who share the same special day.

The occasion was particularly remarkable as Doris celebrated her 101st birthday, while Joan marked her 94th birthday surrounded by those closest to them.

The celebrations began with a special birthday lunch for Doris and her family, before family members, friends, residents, and staff gathered together to sing Happy Birthday and present both ladies with gifts and cards.

Adding to the festivities, Doris’ family organised an entertaining quiz for everyone to enjoy. It was followed by a lively game of card bingo, with a glass of Prosecco helping to make the occasion even more special.

As if two birthdays were not enough, there was another special occasion to mark. Doris’ son-in-law was also celebrating his birthday on the same day, and staff made sure he was included in the festivities with chocolates and a birthday card.

Jilu Stephens, general manager at Edingley Lodge, said: “It was a truly wonderful day for everyone.

“Seeing Doris and Joan surrounded by their loved ones and sharing so many smiles made the occasion incredibly special. We are delighted to have been able to celebrate these remarkable milestones with them.”
