Public invited to nominate hospital staff for People’s Award

Posted onPosted on 29th Apr

Members of the public are being asked to nominate teams and individuals working at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who have demonstrated exceptional care, compassion, or support to them or their loved ones.

The trust, which manages King’s Mill, Mansfield Community, and Newark hospitals, is again holding its Excellence Awards to recognise the achievements of its staff over the past year.

The annual Excellence Awards shine a spotlight on colleagues who consistently go the extra mile in their roles making a difference to patients and their families, visitors, and colleagues. The awards provide the biggest single opportunity to celebrate and say thanks for the hard work of the hospital staff.

Last year’s People’s Award winner was the Day Case Unit. The team was nominated for the care it provided for one patient and the dedication members showed through going above and beyond to ensure a couple, who had never spent a New Year’s Eve apart, could be together for the occasion.

Rob Simcox, chief people officer at Sherwood Forest Hospitals, said: “We are thrilled to be launching our annual Excellence Awards. After another challenging year, I have witnessed first-hand the extraordinary efforts of our colleagues. These awards give us a chance to show our appreciation and celebrate them.

“I would encourage members of the public to make their nominations by sharing their stories of individuals and teams who have truly made a difference. It is a wonderful opportunity for our patients and their families to express their thanks, which means so much to our teams.”

Nominations for this year’s awards are open until 11.59pm on Sunday, 17th May. The awards ceremony will once again be held at Mansfield Town Football Club and will be funded through contributions from sponsors.
