Festive fun at Middlebeck

Posted onPosted on 8th Dec

A packed season of festive fun in Middlebeck began on Friday at Christ Church CofE School when Christmas lights were switched on.

There was a Santa’s Grotto and a performance from the school choir, plus festive fayre including pizzas and pick’n’mix from Firehouse Pizza truck.

On Friday, 12th December there will be a Middlebeck festive quiz at Gannets cafe. The event is the final quiz of the year at the venue, which has run a busy programme of events all year from quizzes to gourmet nights and gigs.

The festive quiz will feature Christmas-themed trivia, mince pies, mulled wine and a prize raffle, with all funds raised going to the Children’s Bereavement Centre in Nottinghamshire.

Middlebeck’s regular food trucks will continue over the Christmas period, with Asian street food business Koala Kitchen coming on Friday 12th, followed by The Grumpy German, serving
German ‘festival food’, on Friday 19th.

A ‘Talkin’ Tables’ events will be held every Thursday, from 2pm to 4pm, at Kings Court Care Home, offering a warm, welcoming space for people to sit, chat and enjoy some company.

The events round off a busy year of community events in Middlebeck, many backed by
Urban&Civic, master developer behind the community, from family fun days and barbecues to
nature-focused activities, regular food-focused events at Gannet’s and weekly food trucks.

Simon Murphy, Urban&Civic’s community development lead for Middlebeck, said: “From
carols and Christmas lights to quizzes, fresh produce and cosy cuppas, there’s something for
everyone this month and we’re looking forward to a fun-packed festive season. There are still a
few tables left for the quiz, so people can book tickets to join in at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/middlebecks-big-festive-quiz-gannets-tickets-

“It’s been great to organise and support so many community events in Middlebeck this year,
and we hope we’ve helped to create what is a thriving community with plenty going on for all
ages, making Middlebeck an even more attractive place to live. We’re looking forward to doing
even more in 2026.”
