‘This Christmas, celebrate the real angels!’

Home care company Guardian Angel Carers is urging everyone to celebrate the ‘real angels’ this Christmas and say a big thank you to the people who care for the older generation.

According to Andy Smith, business owner of Guardian Angel Carers Lincoln & Newark, care workers don’t get as much recognition as they deserve.

“Much of the work that home carers do in their local communities, is on their own and unseen. We call all of our carers ‘CareAngels’, and I think that Christmas is the perfect time to recognise the amazing work they do,” he said.

“Our ‘CareAngels’ come from a really wide variety of working backgrounds. For some, this is their first job and vocation, for others this is a career change and a recognition that they want to do really meaningful work that contributes to their local community.

“They all bring such amazing, individual qualities that enable them to build special relationships with clients and their families. They are the all-year-round angels who mean so much to families across the UK.

“I’m so proud of all of our ‘CareAngels’. Christmas is a time to celebrate family, but for us, it’s also a time to ensure that our incredible ‘CareAngels’ are recognised too.

“As we approach the festive season, it’s also important to remember that January is a time when caring businesses such as us receive more enquiries than any other time of year. In spending more time together, family members often notice or realise that time has taken its toll and elderly relatives have become more vulnerable, more frail.

“We know that the vast majority of people in the UK would prefer to remain in their own home as they grow older. So we work closely with you and your loved ones to create personalised care plans that give clients as much independence as possible.”
