A new Beaumond House Hospice Care charity shop will open on Friday, 24th October
Newark-based Beaumond House Hospice Care is opening the shop in Balderton.
The new store, which will be located at Lakeside Shopping Centre on London Road, will open at 10am with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by MasterChef finalist Claire Syrenne.
The store is the sixth Beaumond House charity shop to open in the district, with other stores located across Newark, Collingham and Southwell.
Sally Thomas, head of retail at Beaumond House Hospice Care, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming shoppers to our new charity shop in Balderton, where they’ll have the opportunity to secure some bargains on a variety of homeware, clothing, jewellery and more.
“Our charity shops across the district play a crucial role in the running of the hospice. As hospice care isn’t fully funded by the NHS, we have to raise around £2.2 million each year and each shop raises valuable funds for us.
“Not only this, but they also provide an important service to the community and a link with the hospice itself, as well as offering a sustainable and affordable shopping option for the people of Newark and surrounding areas.”
Beaumond House is now accepting donations for the new store and all donations can be taken to the Beaumond Cross Donation Centre on Robin Hood Walk in Newark. The Donation Centre is open Monday to Saturday between the hours of 9:30am and 5:00pm.
The charity is also appealing for retail volunteers to work in the store, go to www.beaumondhouse.co.uk/
