There’s a chance to win a share of £1,500 in Newark and Sherwood Gift Cards simply by nominating local heroes as part of a new campaign.
Backed by the Newark and Sherwood Gift Card, the BIG Christmas Giveback is a national campaign that asks for nominations of local people, community groups, and organisations having a positive impact in their community.
The person or organisation with the most nominations will win a £1,000 Town & City Gift Card, such as the Newark and Sherwood Gift Card, with one person who nominated them winning a £500 gift card.
The Newark and Sherwood Gift Card launched in 2025 and can be spent with more than 90 local businesses, including shops, restaurants, attractions, salons, and services.
Coun Claire Penny, portfolio holder for Sustainable Economic Growth at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “Our local businesses give so much to our community, and we launched the Newark and Sherwood Gift Card to make it easy to support them. As The BIG Christmas Giveback goes live, I’d love to see nominations for the hard working local business owners, charities, community groups and individuals who go above and beyond to make our communities strong, vibrant and successful.”
