Newark and Sherwood District Council, in partnership with the Lincoln College Group, is already planning the return of the Future First Careers Expo on Thursday, 13th November, at the Lady Eastwood Centre at Newark Showground.
Now in its eighth year, Expo continues to be a cornerstone event for students in years 11 to 13 across Newark and Sherwood and Lincolnshire, offering an opportunity to explore a wide range of career and educational pathways.
Each year, up to eight schools from Newark and Sherwood, and two from Lincolnshire, take part, reflecting the event’s strong regional reach. Last year, Expo welcomed more than 1,300 students, highlighting its growing impact and popularity.
With over 50 exhibitors expected, including local and national businesses, training providers, and further and higher education institutions, Expo is designed to help young people make informed decisions about their futures. The event provides a relaxed, yet informative setting where students can ask questions, gain advice, and discover the many opportunities available to them. From apprenticeships to university courses and beyond, the event introduces students to the world of work — from familiar roles to careers they may never have considered.
Now local businesses are invited to take part as exhibitors and play a vital role in shaping the aspirations of the region’s future workforce. This is an opportunity to connect with young talent, showcase your industry, and inspire the next generation.

Students will attend the Expo with their schools throughout the day, but students and their parents are also invited to drop in independently to explore the opportunities available and speak directly with exhibitors.
