Beaumond House Community Hospice is to host its first ever Easter Family Fun Day and Chicken Run – a 2.5km family fun run – both taking place on Friday, 7th April in Newark Market Place.
The fun day will take place from 10am to 3pm and promises a variety of entertainment for all the family, including inflatables, Easter crafts, egg and spoon races, a climbing wall, board games, a disco, and a fancy-dress competition.
Wristbands for the fun day are priced £8 per child (age 16 and under) when booked online in advance via the Beaumond House website. Wristbands will be £10 if purchased on the day. The hospice advises booking in advance to guarantee entry.
The Chicken Run is a 2.5km fun run around Newark Town Centre, starting at 10.30am in Newark Market Place. The run (which is not a race and you are welcome to walk if you prefer) costs £10 per adult, £5 per child and £25 per family (two adults and two children) when booked online in advance. Prices increase by 20% for on-the-day entries. Fancy dress is optional but encouraged!
Easter Family Fun Day wristbands will be discounted by 50% for children who are taking part in the Chicken Run.
Matt Colbourne, community and events fundraiser at Beaumond House, said: “Each year Beaumond House must raise over £1m continue offering the free and vital services available to residents across Newark and Sherwood.
“Our in-house events are just one of the many ways that we fundraise, and we try to make these events as fun, attractive and accessible to all as possible. If you’re looking for something to do with the family on Good Friday and you fancy helping to raise funds for a good cause at the same time, then we’d love to see you in the Market Place from 10am.”
The event is being sponsored by Pratt & Gelsthorpe, Newark. Managing director Richard Gelsthorpe added: “We have a long-standing history of supporting the outstanding work that Beaumond House do and we’re proud to sponsor this event. As a local independent business we’re keen to see events take place that bring both residents and visitors right into the heart of the town.”
