Pupils at Newark Academy, part of the Nova Education Trust, celebrated an exceptional year of academic achievement, with a 100% pass rate across all A-Level subjects.
Among the many success stories, the academy was particularly proud to celebrate a student securing a place at the University of Cambridge to study geography — the second Oxbridge placement in recent years.
This year, more students than ever applied for university places, with over 91% securing their first-choice destination, significantly above the national average of 79%.
More than 35% of learners achieved at least one A or A* grade.
Vocational results were equally good, with students achieving an average grade of distinction in subjects such as Sport, Health & Social Care, and Digital Media.
Outstanding individual performances included:
Harun Akyol – A A Distinction* (Business, Sociology, Digital Media); Jessica Cobb – A A B (Chemistry, Maths, Biology); Joseph Dowling – A A B (History, Sociology, Psychology) + A in EPQ & C in Core Maths; Libby Fraser – Distinction Distinction Distinction (Sport, Health & Social Care); Grace Smith – A* A B (English Literature, Sociology, Psychology); Alex Stanislawski-Hunt – A A A (Physics, Geography, Maths).
The school celebrated strong AS results in Criminology and Maths, with 33% of Criminology students achieving an A grade, including one student scoring 100% — a promising start for a new course for the academy.
