Red Roofs Residential Care Home in Newark was transformed into the Wild West for a Country and Western Summer Fair, welcoming around 50 residents, families, and friends.

Themed decorations set the scene, and residents, staff, and visiting families all embraced the occasion in full costume.

There were wanted posters featuring the residents, a set of stocks from John Hunt School, and music.

One of the biggest hits was a visiting miniature pony named Seven, brought along by his owner, Roy.

A familiar face at Red Roofs, Roy returns each Christmas to play Santa for the residents, and his summer visit with Seven was warmly received by all.

Money raised on the day will go into the residents’ fund to support day trips and further events.

Red Roofs general manager Trish Smith said: “I’m so proud of my team for putting on such a wonderful afternoon, bringing the Wild West to our home.

“Seeing our residents and their families enjoying it together made it all worthwhile.

“We’re so grateful to everyone in the community who supported us. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so special.”
