Walking challenge for hospice

Share:

A Newark man has smashed his target to raise money for the town’s Beaumond House Community Hospice through a gruelling challenge.

Personal trainer Ben Walker completed an Army-style 10-mile walk carrying a 25kg rucksack (bergen) for five consecutive days.

His fundraising total currently stands at more than £3,700 and there is still time for people to help him pass the £4,000 mark. Go to https://www.facebook.com/donate/270403064330523/ to make a donation.

Ben said: “I decided to put my mind to something and raise some funds at such at hard time for everyone. I decided to start with Beaumond House, which we are so lucky to have in our town as it’s always in need.”

The hospice, which provides care for more than 500 patients per year, said: “Thank you so much Ben! What amazing hard work and support you have shown to Beaumond House.”
