A charity golf day arranged by Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands raised more than £15,000 for its Charity of the Year, Newark-based Children’s Bereavement Centre.
Twenty-nine teams, featuring 116 golfers, including Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ employees and sub-contractors, took part in the tournament at The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club in Nottingham.
Funds raised on the day have been donated to the Children’s Bereavement Centre, which offers a welcoming and safe environment for children aged three to 18, as well as their families, to receive help and guidance at one of the most devastating times in their lives.
Clare Sears, community fundraiser at the charity, said: “A huge thank you from the Children’s Bereavement Centre for an amazing day, which will support a large number of children and their families in the community. You should be immensely proud of the difference you as a team have made.”
As Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands’ Charity of the Year, the Children’s Bereavement Centre will benefit from a number of corporate fundraising events taking place over the year.
As well as the 18 holes, those involved also took part in other competitions, including the longest drive and nearest the pin. The day concluded with a BBQ, raffle, and prize presentation.
Mark Cotes, managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have hosted this year’s charity golf day, bringing together colleagues, partners, and friends to support Children’s Bereavement Centre.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in the event. The support made a meaningful difference, and we hope everyone involved enjoyed the day.”
