Beaumond House Hospice Care is set to host Newark’s first charity zip wire event, giving supporters the opportunity to be part of an unforgettable fundraising experience.
Taking place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th, October, from 9am to 5pm, the fundraiser will see participants soar 200m over Riverside Park, Newark — travelling at speed high above the ground to raise money for the hospice.
Applications to take part are open at a cost of £125 per person and supporters have two fundraising options — either pay a £25 non-refundable deposit and raise £100 by 17th October, or pay an outright donation of £125.
Susie Conning, community and events manager, said: “We’re so excited to be bringing the first-ever zip wire to Newark — that’s not something that many people can say and we’re very proud to be bringing this idea to life!
“This will not only be an exhilarating and exciting experience for our supporters, but it will also help us raise vital funds so we can continue providing care and support to patients and their families.
“Because hospice care isn’t fully funded by the NHS, fundraising is vital to help us continue operating. Without it, and the incredible generosity of the people who donate, we could not continue to provide the care that we do.
“If you’re an adrenaline junkie and would like to be part of an unforgettable date in the Newark diary, you can sign up now to take part. We’re also seeking corporate sponsors for the event, so please get in touch if your business would like to be involved.
“We look forward to seeing you all there as you brave the wire and zip for care!”
Applicants for the zip wire fundraiser must be aged 12 or over, and applicants are able to choose their preferred date, with morning and afternoon slots available on both days.
