Newark Palace Theatre and the National Civil War Centre are joining forces for school holiday activities based on one of the biggest family events of the year — pantomime!
Oh Yes You Can… Make A Panto invites children to make their own panto puppets, trying them out in a shadow theatre.
Visitors can create their own colourful cast, even putting on a mini show and filming it to share with family and friends.
The activities will run to Saturday, 4th September and craft sessions are priced £1.50 per child, or free with Centre admission as part of a family day out.
National Civil War Centre manager Carys Coulton-Jones said: “While restrictions have lifted, we are still keeping the safety of our visitors a priority with lots of extra cleaning and a great one-way route with accompanying trail around the museum.
“With the amazing crafts our Learning Team have conjured up this summer, and half-price admission currently running, this is the perfect time for families to visit and enjoy a wonderful experience exploring our exhibitions and having a go at some great interactives.”
The Centre will also be handing out a limited number of creative kits to visitors this summer, packed with craft materials and museum-based activities to keep children occupied and inspired throughout the holidays.
Complementing the events at the museum, there will be fun crafts available to enjoy online too. Children can download templates from the National Civil War Centre website’s Museum+ page to cut out and colour, making their very own mini theatre at home.
