Singers join Rock Choir for Comic Relief fundraising

Posted onPosted on 10th Mar

Singers from Newark and Southwell will be part of Rock Choir, the largest contemporary choir in the world, when it features in a Virtual Weekend Festival in aid of this year’s Comic Relief.

Leading some of the weekend’s festivities, from 12th to 14th March, will be Katherine Tye, who looks after the choirs in Southwell and Newark.

Rock Choir will be providing three days of entertainment for the public to enjoy in the form of a jam-packed fun and interactive virtual festival, with activities including live singing, dancing, vocal workshops, exercise sessions, cook-a-longs, cocktail making, baking and much more.

Rock Choir will also be celebrating friendship during the weekend, including the premiere of their new version of Queen’s You’re My Best Friend.

The Rock Choir recording will feature the voices of the 80 professional vocalists and Rock Choir Leaders and the accompanying video will feature thousands of photographs of Rock Choir members with their best friends.

Tickets for the weekend’s event will be available via the Rock Choir website and will be priced at £15 per ticket. Only one ticket is required per household. All proceeds will go to Comic Relief.
