Will Britten has been appointed captain of Newark Rugby Club for the third successive season.
Tim Barker, director of Senior Rugby, said the decision was unanimously taken at a recent club board meeting.
He added: “I’m delighted that Will has accepted the challenge of another season as captain. Due to the curtailment of last season because of Covid 19 there’s definitely a sense of ‘unfinished business’.
“The young 1st XV squad made huge progress under new coaches Adam Corcoran and James Offer and will be looking to develop further next season.”
Newark’s senior squad returned to training last week after the Covid-19 restrictions were lifted by Government and the RFU.
The squad is training every Tuesday and Thursday at the Kelham Road ground, 7.30pm start. All new players are very welcome.
