Pub to close for major refurbishment

Posted onPosted on 31st Oct

A popular pub in the Newark area, the Lord Ted, is due to close today (Monday 31st October) to undergo a major refurbishment designed to completely modernise the Greene King Pub & Carvery site.

A garden development has already been completed that has provided four covered and heated tables externally, along with a further covered area with a large screen TV.

Inside the pub, the décor will be given a full makeover, with new carpets, colour scheme, furniture and furnishings.

The bar area is being expanded to further enhance the sports viewing areas, also providing an increase in covers, and the restaurant is being modernised to create a brighter and more modern setting for customers.

The sports area will have a new sound system fitted and will boast a total of seven screens, allowing customers to catch all the live sporting action seven days a week. Downloading the Greene King season ticket app will give pub goers 10% off drinks.

Simon Keane, Lord Ted general manager, said: “This year is a big year for the Lord Ted, as we’re celebrating two special anniversaries. Not only are we celebrating the pub’s 25th year since it was built, but we are also celebrating our fifth birthday as a pub and carvery.

“The timings of these renovations are very fitting and will further enhance our live sport and dining offering to guests. We can’t wait to welcome back our regulars and new customers to enjoy their new and improved surroundings.”

The Lord Ted will reopen on Monday 28th November 2022. For more information, visit the pub’s website here.
