Estate agents Gascoines saw one of its high-end properties sell within 24 hours following the reopening of the property market.
The four-bedroom detached family home, which sold for £749,950, on Brickyard Lane, Farnsfield, is situated on a mature 1/3 of an acre plot.
Gascoines said transaction and instruction levels have risen quickly across the board to exceed pre-lockdown levels, with the first-time buyer market performing particularly well with an 87% resurgence.
The estate agency has seen a 130% increase in property sales agreed, compared to this time last year, as buyers who stalled during lockdown now pick up the pace.
Emma Gascoine, chief executive at Gascoines, said: “Since the UK went into lockdown and more people have worked remotely from home; the household has now become a higher valued space and people are now thinking about upgrading or relocating.
“As a result, we’ve noticed that properties with modern living spaces, room for home working, and good outdoor areas are in high demand. People have had time to think during lockdown and are more closely considering what they need and want from their homes, which has prompted this surge in demand since the market reopened.
“We have a fantastic variety of properties to suit everyone, whether that’s an old brick home or a heritage building.”
Keeping in line with Covid-19 guidelines and social distancing measures, Gascoines now offers a new Matterport camera for virtual tours and 3D floor plans – and says it is the only estate agency in Southwell to do so.
Emma added: “It’s important that, despite the current crisis, people are still able to not only purchase a new home but also have a full tour experience and a proper look around the property before making that ultimate decision.
“Our new virtual tours provide people with the opportunity to really see the exterior and interior of the building and the details, to ensure it’s the property for them.”
