Newark and Sherwood District Council has launched a photo competition to showcase the best in the district.

There are two categories – under 17 and open. Town Centres and Out and About are the subjects for younger photographers and Industrial and Architecture and Nature and Rural for the open competition.

Entries close on 28th September. The winners will be picked out by a panel of judges and the final images will be blown up and displayed in a prominent position in the Castle House reception area.

The winners will also share in a total of £400 in cash prizes.
