Newark panto a record breaker

Posted onPosted on 15th Dec

It isn’t just magic carpets flying this Christmas as tickets for the Palace Theatre Newark’s pantomime are flying out the door, breaking their sales record for a third year running!

After just one week of opening, the theatre reached the golden number of 20,600 tickets for this year’s ‘genie-us’ pantomime Aladdin, beating the previous bestseller, 2023’s Snow White.

Running until Tuesday, 31st December, in collaboration with Jordan Productions, families and audiences of all ages are invited to come along on this thrilling adventure bursting with laughter, magic, and wishes galore!

Coun Rowan Cozens, deputy leader and portfolio holder for Heritage, Culture and the Arts at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “I am incredibly proud of our amazing team and the cast and crew who work really hard to bring these performances to life.

“Breaking ticket sales records within the first week of opening is absolutely fantastic news and I encourage anyone who hasn’t booked their tickets yet to act quickly whilst they are still available!

“The experience of enjoying panto together is such a joyful highlight of the season; what could be better than creating cherished memories with loved ones while surrounded by the enchanting atmosphere of the Palace Theatre?”

Chris Jordan, managing director of Jordan Productions, added: “We’re thrilled that so many people and families are enjoying Aladdin this Christmas. The success of the Palace pantomime is down to the great partnership that we have with the theatre’s team and our shared objective to produce an unforgettable pantomime experience for all patrons.

“This year’s production certainly has plenty of ‘Wow!’. We’re really looking forward to continuing on this upwards trajectory, growing audiences, and working together with the Palace Theatre to ensure that the Newark Panto continues to grow bigger and better each year.”
