Live music at Middlebeck summer barbecue and family fun day

Posted onPosted on 30th Jul

Food, activities, and live music are all on offer as part of a special summer barbecue and family fun day in the heart of Newark’s Middlebeck community.

The free annual event, on Saturday, 16th August, will be held at cafe Gannets, from 12noon to 6pm.

Organised by Urban&Civic, the master developer behind Middlebeck, it will feature fun for all the family, including a bouncy castle, craft fair, face painting, garden games, the chance to get up close to birds of prey courtesy of Owls ‘R’ Us, as well as fun fitness challenges with local fitness business Transform Middlebeck.

The day will also include live music from three different acoustic acts – Scribble Victory, Gary Toward & Sam Woodings, and Claire Shaw.

Simon Murphy, Urban&Civic community development lead for Middlebeck, said: “Come and join us for a sizzling summer barbecue and a day filled with family fun in and around Gannets Middlebeck. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer day with your loved ones, full of food and drink, music and fun.

“This summer barbecue is the latest in a series of events we’ve organised at Gannets aimed at bringing the community together and providing fun for all the family right in the heart of Middlebeck. We can’t wait to welcome everyone and to continue planning some great events and opportunities for the people of Middlebeck.”

People can register their interest for the free summer barbecue on Eventbrite and find out more about upcoming events at Middlebeck and how to book via Middlebeck’s social media channels at https://www.facebook.com/MiddlebeckNewark and https://www.instagram.com/middlebecknewark/
