Two friends who are residents at Edingley Lodge care home celebrated their 98th and 93rd birthdays on the same day — 3rd October.
Dorothy Fox and Jenny Murray met at the care home in May, when it re-opened following a full refurbishment.
Dorothy was the first official resident, with Jenny following a couple of weeks later — and the two became friends.
The home held a combined surprise birthday party for them and there were two homemade birthday cakes.
Jilu Stephen, general manager at Edingley Lodge, said: “It is wonderful to be able to celebrate this occasion with these residents who love life and enjoy having fun.”
Edingley Lodge care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which said it is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals. Edingley Lodge provides residential care for 34 residents from respite care to long term stays.
