Join celebrations for Inspire at Buttermarket

Inspire is celebrating its new base for learning and culture with an official opening event at the Buttermarket, Newark — and the public is invited to attend.

Inspire has a new home on the mezzanine floor of the historical building, after Newark and Sherwood District Council completed extensive renovation works at the iconic Buttermarket last year.

Working with the council, which owns the building, Inspire has made the space a lively hub for learning, creativity, and exploration — and it is set to be a venue for educational and cultural activities in the heart of the town centre.

The Inspire Culture, Learning and Libraries team is inviting the public to see the learning and event spaces on Saturday, 11th March, from 10am to 12noon.

Adult learning courses for the community will also be available alongside three new learning spaces.

The opening event comes after the team opened doors for courses in the autumn to great success.

Clare Janes, centre manager, said: “I’ve been thrilled at how fast the word is getting out about this fantastic new facility.

“We are already starting to get maximum numbers on some of our courses and many learners are taking up multiple learning opportunities, and recommending it to their family and friends, when they see the variety of courses we have on offer.”

Members of the public can drop in from 10am to 12noon on Saturday, 11th March, take part in spring-themed crafts, meet fun characters — including a giant daffodil — and find out more about upcoming courses, groups, and events.
