Hospice offers opportunity to remember loved ones this Father’s Day

Beaumond House is inviting people to share memories through MuchLoved, an online dedication page.

Beaumond House Hospice Care is offering people the opportunity to remember their loved ones this Father’s Day through the page.

The charity has partnered with MuchLoved, an in-memory platform, to offer its supporters a way to leave messages of love and share dedications in memory of their dads, grandads, stepdads, and those who have taken on a fatherly role.

The page allows people to upload a photograph and share memories to celebrate their loved ones in the run-up to Father’s Day. Photos then appear in a shared gallery which can be shared with family and friends.

Supporters can also make a donation to help Beaumond House continue to provide supportive palliative care to patients and their families living in Newark and Sherwood.

Andrea Ward, individual giving fundraising manager at Beaumond House Hospice Care, said: “Losing a parent, step-parent, family member or loved one can make certain times of the year a little harder than others, but talking about those we’ve lost and sharing memories can be a great comfort.

“This Father’s Day, we’re inviting people to remember their loved ones by leaving a dedication in their honour. Not only will this help us to celebrate people we’ve loved and lost, but it will also raise vital funds which will be invaluable as we continue to give our patients dignity and independence, when every moment matters.”

James Singer, who has been supporting the hospice for many years, has already made a dedication in memory of his dad. He said: “Although my parents weren’t supported by the hospice, I decided to make a dedication as I felt it was a nice way to remember my dad, David. Beaumond House touches the lives of so many people and I know that my donation will help the team to support other fathers living in our local community.”
