Newark-based hospice charity Beaumond House Hospice Care is inviting the people of Nottinghamshire to join them for a fun-filled family day out as it celebrates the start of summer.
The charity’s annual Garden Party returns on Saturday, 28th June, between 10am and 2pm, offering a variety of activities and the opportunity to learn more about the charity.
Taking place at the hospice on London Road in Newark, the Garden Party will boast stalls and games, as well as crafts and biscuit decorating. Guests can also cheer on the duck races, try their luck at the tombola and raffle, and enjoy a selection of hot and cold refreshments.
There’s a chance to meet the wonderful alpacas once again as J & J Alpacas will be visiting in the morning and Radio Newark will be on site all day providing a great selection of summer tunes and entertainment.
The Beaumond House team will also be on hand for those who would like to learn more about its care services, volunteering opportunities and new lottery scheme.
Louise Sinclair, chief executive at Beaumond House Hospice Care, said: “We’re very excited to welcome everyone to our annual Garden Party – it’s set to be a wonderful day of fun and, with lots of different activities on offer, there really is something for everyone.
“Events like this are a fantastic way for us to meet our regular supporters and say a big thank you to them, at the same time as spreading the word about our work to new supporters and raising vital funds for the charity.
“Hospice care isn’t fully funded by the NHS and each year it costs us around £2.8m to deliver our services, with around £2.2 million of this needing to be fundraised through donations, shops and local businesses.
“We also work very closely with other charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support and The Butterfly Project, which will both be at the Garden Party to provide information about their services.
“It’s a free event for all who would like to attend and there’s no need to book a space – we look forward to seeing you all and have put in an order for plenty of sunshine!”
