Fun day for residents at Middlebeck

Posted onPosted on 20th Aug

Hundreds of members of the Middlebeck community went to a summer barbecue and fun day organised by Urban&Civic.

More than 300 people attended the free event, which included live music and food prepared by hosts, the cafe Gannets.

There was also a bouncy castle, craft fair, face painting, garden games, and fitness challenges with Transform Middlebeck. Future events include an acoustic gig on Friday, 29th September at Gannets and on Friday, 17th October the venue will stage a charity quiz night.

Simon Murphy, community development lead for Middlebeck at Urban&Civic, the master developer for the community, said: “Our summer barbecue and fun day was a huge success, with more than 300 people attending and enjoying a day filled with food and drink, music and fun.

“This event was part of an ongoing series of events we organise to bring the community together and provide fun for all the family right in the heart of Middlebeck, and we’ve got more coming up in coming months, including a charity quiz night as well as an acoustic night. We can’t wait to see everyone there.”
