Excitement at Magnus A-Level results

Posted onPosted on 18th Aug

There was great excitement at Magnus C of E Academy as students attended to collect their A-Level results.

Statistics show the academy achieved a 96% pass rate, A*-E, 49% A*-B and 22% A*-A.

Executive principal Anna Martin says the fantastic results enable students to go to redbrick universities this summer.

“Despite three years of academic upheaval, our students have performed exceptionally well in their A-level courses this year,” she said.

“We have some truly outstanding A level and Btec results with very many students achieving the highest grades. This is a testament to their character and dedication to their studies and themselves. They have dealt with adversity to achieve fantastic results that enable record numbers to go to redbrick universities this year.”

Sarah Tucker, head of Post 16, added: “We are thrilled with the fantastic achievements of our Year 13 students this year. This is the first external set of exams this year group has faced, due to their GCSEs being cancelled during the Covid-19 pandemic. To overcome such enormous challenges and achieve this fantastic set of results is testament to their character and work ethic.

“We are excited to see our students being accepted at universities up and down the country and for a variety of courses. We also have students staying locally in employment and apprenticeships. They have been a dedicated and fun year group and we wish them every success in their next steps.”

I’m looking forward to the independence of university life so I can learn to approach challenges on my own.”
