Estate agent helps those in need

Posted onPosted on 18th Dec

Estate agent Gascoines has supported Newark Food Bank and the Salvation Army in Newark by donating food parcels and toys this Christmas.

The food parcels included mince pies, sweets, crisps, cakes and chocolate selection boxes, as well as presents and toys for children to support the Salvation Army’s Toy Appeal.

Jess Mitchell, office manager at Gascoines, said: “It’s fantastic that we’re able to support both the Newark Food Bank and the Salvation Army. This year has been challenging and difficult for everyone, especially families who have been affected by Covid-19, so it’s important that we all come together to help in any way we can.

“We’re proud of all the team for getting involved to donate much-needed food and toys, and we’re delighted to be helping those less fortunate and supporting such wonderful causes.”

The Newark Food Bank has been helping local people for more than eight years, and last year provided meals to 2,595 adults and children in crisis. The Salvation Army in Newark supports those who are vulnerable and need the help of others. This year, it launched a Toy Appeal to provide Christmas gifts to children.
