A drive-in fireworks display, accompanied by music, is to be hosted at Newark Showground on Sunday, 8th November, from 5.30pm.
It will raise money for Newark-based charity, the Children’s Bereavement Centre.
The event, which will be hosted by Phil Johnson, of Radio Newark, costs £25 per car, £20 early bird, or £35 for VIP viewing, from www.driveinfireworks.uk
To ensure the event is covid-safe, people will drive on to the site and have their tickets scanned by stewards wearing personal protective equipment. They will be directed to a parking space and, once parked, everyone will need to stay within touching distance of their car.
Gates will close 20 minutes prior to the start. There will be no sale of refreshments and no funfair. People are also asked not to take their own fireworks or sparklers.
A spokesman said: “Please feel free to bring refreshments with you, we just ask that you please take your litter home.”
Martin Allen, of event organisers Entertainment Effects Group Ltd, said: “With the unique element of having the radio broadcasting directly to each vehicle, it will enable everyone to engage with the event and enjoy the stunning display.”
