The Newark Dragon Boat Festival is back for a sixth year on Sunday, 14th September.
The day-long community event at Riverside Park brings together boat races, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun — all in support of two local charities, the Children’s Bereavement Centre and Beaumond House Hospice Care.
A new addition to the festival, organised by Jack Brett, of Radio Newark Amplified, is the showcasing of local talent and new acts, including Rainmaker, Larkin Road, Matt Shephardson, Rock Choir, Justus2wo, and AJ’s School of Dance.
The stage will reflect Newark’s vibrant creative scene and offering something for everyone, from toe-tapping tunes to uplifting dance performances.
In addition to the dragon boat races on the River Trent, visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities and attractions, including inflatables, traditional fairground stalls, Total Wipeout-style games, and a selection of local food and drink vendors.
A limited number of dragon boat entries are still available. For the latest event details, including how to enter a team, go to www.newarkdragonboatfestival.co.uk
