Nottinghamshire’s military community will descend on County Hall next month for a special Armed Forces Reserve Recruitment Day.
The free event will take place at Nottinghamshire County Council’s headquarters on Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, on Wednesday, 25th March, from 9am to 3pm.
Representatives from the Army, Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force will have information stands to give an insight into the unique qualities of the UK Reserve Forces.
Coun Kelvin Wright, the council’s Armed Forces Champion and a military veteran himself, said the event would provide a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in joining the Reserve.
He added: “I am delighted that we, as a council, are hosting a special Armed Forces Reserve Recruitment Day and we are looking forward to meeting those who are interested in reservist roles across the military.
“The event will shine a light on the wonderful work our reservists carry out in providing a key link to the defence of our country and how our businesses can play a significant role in supporting employees who join the Reserve.
“There are so many different and diverse roles and becoming a reservist enables people to learn new skills, travel and see new places and make new friends while serving King and country.
“Nottinghamshire has a rich military history and by holding a significant event of this nature reaffirms our commitment to supporting the county’s Armed Forces community.”
Businesses from across the county are also encouraged to attend the recruitment day to find out more about the benefits of employees becoming reservists and to help build a reputation as an Armed Forces-friendly organisation.
East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association staff will also be on hand to give advice to businesses and organisations on the day.
Free parking is available at County Hall.
