Businesses in Newark and Sherwood will have the chance to discuss key issues about the district’s economic recovery as part of a free online event this week.
The session, hosted by Newark and Sherwood District Council, will take place on Friday, September 18 from 8.40am to set out initial recovery plans while providing practical advice and support with a panel.
Council leader David Lloyd, as well as MP for Newark, Robert Jenrick, and MP for Sherwood, Mark Spencer, will sit on a panel, answering questions about the challenges businesses have faced due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the support that is available to businesses as they remobilise.
The session will also include presentations from guest speakers including case studies from local businesses about how they have dealt with the last six months and their plans moving forward.
Coun Lloyd said: “The economic impact of Covid-19 on businesses and the economy is significant and as such we want to be able to provide relevant and tailored advice during these challenging times.
“It is clear that businesses will need to change and innovate in our post Covid economic environment. In order to do this, businesses require both support and ambition in order to focus on recovery efforts and build on something more meaningful for the future.
“Our business community is vital to our district’s overall success which is why we are encouraging businesses to register for the session, ask the questions you want answered and understand that our focus is on helping you rebuild and recover for the future.”
