Coronavirus: Sherwood Forest and Rufford Abbey country parks close

Share:

Nottinghamshire County Council has announced that it will be closing all country park sites across the county, as well as their facilities and car parks, from Monday evening, as it follows Government guidelines over the coronavirus pandemic.

This includes Sherwood Forest, Rufford Abbey, Holme Pierrepont, Cotgrave and Bestwood.

A spokesman said: “This decision has not been taken lightly and is one of many measures we have put in place to ensure effective social distancing in our communities across Nottinghamshire.

“We recognise that access to our country parks may still be possible on foot, however we ask that any visitors keep themselves a minimum of two meters apart from each other to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
